Questions
What does Rahu in the 5th house mean in Vedic astrology?
Rahu signifies worldly ambition, the foreign and the unconventional; the 5th house (Putra) governs children, intelligence, mantra and past merit. In an angle or trine, one performs major religious sacrifices (Jyotiṣṭoma and the like).
Is Rahu in the 5th house good or bad?
Neither on its own. The texts change the result with the planet's dignity (exalted, own sign, debilitated), the planets joined with it or aspecting it, and the strength of the house lord; the conditional lines above show how. The result then ripens in the planet's own period (daśā).
How do I know which house Rahu is in?
You need your birth date, time and place. The free Vedastro calculator computes the sidereal (Lahiri) chart and shows the house of every planet.
